I've I have never been such a fan of following fashions that follow from TV channels, pages, magazines, and their lane  so on but instead I tend prefer to wear dress like a punk and grunge people who lived on in the 80s and 90's. Both of us didn't pay attention Neither of us used to pay too much attention to too much on our appearances hence we resisted to dyed hair or cosmetic surgery. Another similarity that I want to consider mention is that both of us wore would wear flashy and loud t-shirts when we were together and laughed to with each other. But after since he has gone my taste has completely changed and it goes to wear tends more towards what he'd he would have liked.

Compare two people's tastes in fashion

My friend "G" and I didn’t have never had similarity on tastes in fashion. We were not on the same boat wavelength at all. * 'stature' is not wrong here but 'height' sounds more natural.

* I like your use of 'an arm and a leg'.

* 'bought his clothes by his mean', this would be 'according to his means', 'spent within his means' works better. You could even use an idiom here, 'cut your coat according to your cloth', 'he always used to cut his coat according to his cloth'.
