Extravagant Spending on College Campus
Nowadays, students spending too much money has increasingly become a common concern of the public. According to a survey, the monthly expenditure of a college student is mounting. Their percentage of the total expenditure of the family begins to rise which means that most college students are not thrifty housekeepers.
There are a couple of reasons booming for this. As we know, the estimated budget for college students includes tuition, books and living expenses. The costs of tuition and books are certain, the problem is the living expense. Most parents love their own children, almost smothering them with love. Parents place too much attention on their children's study which causes that children can't to not be independent. Students take it for granted that they don’t have to save money before they enter into the society. To educate the young generation in such a way is just like making the rice grow by pulling them up. Then eventually, having no concept of thrift in their mind, students lied high and expended largely.
Based on the above discussions, I can easily forecast that the next generation will be ruined. As far as I'm concerned, schools, parents and society share the responsibility of educating the youngs. Measures are supposed to be taken to prevent this from doing us more harm. First of all, to develop students' independence, parents can make students think for themselves, rather than telling them what to think. Furthermore, students need to be taught how to keep spending in check, which will help them to store information about all their purchases and control your their expenses.
As a college student, I am supposed to try to save money and learn to be more independent.
