Californian accent
I'm pretty sure that an accent is what gives you a unique personality especially when you speak a foreign language.
I'm French and my main target is to speak English with the least accent possible. Some people may have easiness and capacities to shadow a foreign accent.
I really love the californian accent and this is my favorite one (I consider it as a neutral American accent). Recently I spoke with a friend of mine from Philadelphia who told me that my accent was pretty good but I could hear that I'm european but wouldn't be able to tell from which country.
Another one told me that my accent was closer to the midwestern accent.
The californian accent is my goal and even if I know that I'll never be able to mimic it perfectly, keeping it as an objective is a good motive.
I spend a lot of time to speak out loud to myself or to chat with my two and a half years daughter in order to work on my accent. I think this is the key to success. PRACTICE!!!
I love the way the californian accent resonates in native speakers mouths. It has something more than the others.

*I grew up in California and never thought I had an accent. :-)
