When I was young I was rather gullible, so when in my mid teens I encountered a group of people claiming a fourteen year old Indian boy was the 'Perfect Master', the one human being in the world who, like Jesus and Krishna, is 'God incarnate', I went along with the idea.

年轻时我比较轻信（Or better: 比较容易相信别人），的,所以我十几岁时，见面一团人一群人说一个十四岁的印度男孩是“完美大师”，就像耶稣和克利须那神一样，是世上界里面是唯一一个“神的化身”的人的时候，我也相信了。
We know who is the subject even without a subject in a sentence, therefore I deleted 我. We also know the logic even without 'because', 'so', 'therefore', etc. So 所以 can be omitted in your sentence. Those might be the differences between the two languages.

完美大师（Perfect Master）：指现代印度新兴宗教活动‘大知识’（Knowledge）的提倡者马荷罗基上师（GuruMaharaj Ji,1957～ ）。依据该派教义，马荷罗基能启发世人体验各人内在的‘大知识’，能使世人产生祥和、自足、仁慈等性格而臻完美之境。因此世人称之为‘完美大师’。
马荷罗基生于印度北部的哈得瓦（Hard-war），父为喜瑞汉士基（Shri Hans JiMaharaj Ji）。喜瑞汉士基也是当时的完美大师，曾启发百万民众体验到内在的大知识。相传马荷罗基六岁时尝获父亲启发其内在的大知识。之后，修定月余而大悟。据闻悟后即以英语向百万求道群众演说。其后，其父宣称马荷罗基将继之成为‘完美大师’。
西元1966年七月十九日，马荷罗基的父亲逝世。八岁的马荷罗基成为新的完美大师。他宣言他并非为建立新宗教而来，而是为了显示真理。马荷罗基十三岁（1971）时开始前往欧美各国传播大知识。十五岁起向世界各地布道。全球数十个国家之中受其启发而获益者，已达数十万人。台湾亦有该派之若干信徒。

I have read another notebook entry. Are these two entries from the same article? Now I think the translation of "圣人“ might be improper. Do you have the whole passage? I need the context to fully understand the phrase. Maybe I can find a better word.
