To whom it may concern, I am currently a 5th year student at the Aldo Moro School of medicine at the University of Bari, Italy. Please accept this document, as an application for the practice course of 8 weeks in plastic surgery, beginning August 2017 at the Manchester University Hospital . I would like to take part in this professional course because I believe it would help provide a solid base for future endeavors in my career. I would consider it privilege to do so at the medical school of Manchester, because it would give me the rare opportunity to learn in a high quality rank univeristy, as well as in the English-speaking country par excellence . I hold in very highly regard surgical care because of its dependence on team work, which is an environment I thrive in. I’m particularly interested in plastic surgery due to the wide range of extremely interesting work prospects it can offer. In fact, plastic surgery is used not only to perform cosmetic corrections, but also to restore one's appearance after an unfortunate accident or illness, providing vast improvements in patients’ self esteem and overall quality of life. I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to to gain the valuable knowledges your world class surgical staff will provide during simulation classes, rounds and in the operation theatre. In addition, I am sending copies of the certificates and tutors' references I gained during my previous elective periods in Brazil and Romania, hoping they will be proof enough I possess the qualities to be a valuable member of this program.
