do the parents get more involved in their children's education nowadays? Never before in the history has the problem of education been such salient than today. The rapid development of the society requires more and more talents, who possess good educational background, and it also stimulates students to work hard and step into an upper platform. Some people may ask nowadays if the parents get more and more involved in their children's education, in my opinion, the answer is negative for two main reasons. First of all, the huge pressure produced by the fierce competition of society force the parents devote more energy and time into the work, which means sometime they may need to work overtime and come back home very late. They are so tired after a long period tense and stressful work that need a personal time and space to recover, let alone wish they would have time to care about their children's homework. In the way, the children may turn to their teachers and classmates for help if they meet some difficulties in study, and parents could only offer little assistance for that. In a more extreme condition, due to a bunch of reasons some parents may need work in another place which is far away from their kids, and they would be less involved in their children's education like before. Moreover, In the past, there were only limited ways for children to study, and parents played a crucial role at that time. But worldwide internet use enables the children to have more opportunities to get in touch with the outside world. They could get access to a great amount of information, which do good to study by themselves. Surfing the internet, clicking on the mouse, and then the countless study material will display on the computer screen within seconds, which replaces a part of functions of their parents. Admittedly, nowadays the education level that parents obtained has been improved a lot compared to the past, and Theoretically they could provide more practical help for their children in education. However, busy work and modern technique push them away from it subjectively and objectively. On the other hand, for the children the process of learning is becoming more and more independent, and they could make their own choices in some educational problems like university selection and major preference. Judging from what I’ve mentioned above, I should reinforce my perspective that nowadays the parents get less involved in their children's education.
