This is my story in my native tongue, English, so you can see what I am trying to say:-
I moved with my family to Bahrain when I was only 7 years old. I was a kid and for some reason I expected everyone in Bahrain to look like and dress like Aladdin and Jasmine so I was surprised when I saw abayas for the first time as I’d never seen them before! The first time I ever wore an abaya was (unfortunately) for a funeral in Bahrain. I wore one in public a couple times when I lived in Egypt and even tried wearing a niqab once and now here in Dubai I own several and wear them when I goto the masjid or for Quran classes or when I goto Saudi. I personally love how abayas look and feel it always makes a woman look elegant, even on a quick trip to the local cold store while wearing pyjamas underneath :)
