Yesterday, one of my old friend came to Guangzhou. I invited him to the dinner after he off the plane. After the dinner ,firstly our plan was I drive hime to the hotel. But when my care got on the road nearby Zhujiang River. We found the view was very beautiful. So we decided to have a drive along the river. I even drove across the bridge and had been a long time on the South Bank of the Pearl River. The South Bank could watch the downtown of Guangzhou. There are many tall buildings over there. They shine brightly. They are very beautiful.

I even drove across the bridge and had been a long drove a long time on the South Bank of the Pearl River. From Tthe South Bank we could watch see the downtown area of Guangzhou. There are many tall buildings over there. They shine brightly. They are very beautiful. [You could also write the last 3 sentences in the past tense, to be consistent with the rest of the paragraph, describing the scene last night.
