A personal statement for entry onto course: toward a smart doorman Reflecting on the bad security situation nowadays, I appreciate the immeasurable impact that doormen make on the residents lives. I realise that the doorman is the most important person in the building as all residents need his helps permanently. Moreover, many problems would arise if he left the building for a while. Actually, I believe that it is a complex process to convert a normal person to a doorman. Therefore, I hope to be a super doorman who all residents rely on. Furthermore, I need to achieve the skills required for a modern doorman. I believe that the knowledge I acquired whilst searching in this field overlaps with this course. I read many books such as "Doorman is a good man, he isn't a Spiderman", "Doorman and doorwoman standing together", "Doorman versus Superman", and "The legend of doorman". In addition to books, I have been playing many online games involving guarding since I was a child. I believe that my current understanding and interest form a solid foundation that is required to build smart doorman skills. When I was young, I was terrified of thieves; therefore, I used to spend the night standing up behind my room door holding a big stick. At the revolution, I was a volunteer to guard our building. When I was 22 years old, I worked with young people as a volunteer teacher in a small village for two years, but I exploited this opportunity and tried to persuade them to leave the school and work as doormen. After that, I worked in NASA agency as a guarder. It was a great opportunity for me deal with a high technology. Therefore, I was interested in reading about how could we use the technology to transform normal people to doormen. My experience working in varied environments has enabled me to develop a range of practical skills. First of all, I am able to manage two buildings simultaneously. In addition, I can stand for a long time without complaining. Furthermore, I'm so brave therefore I'm not scared of thieves. The surprise is my ability to see well at night with and without my glasses. Finally, I am very creative, and I have got some ideas for connecting the technology with guard duties. For instance, constructing a call centre inside the building, and setting up a website for the residences. Unfortunately, these are just ideas so far. Therefore, I count on your course to obtain the suitable skills needed to build them up.
