Hunt= search for something or else go into the wilderness to kill animals
Haunt=
as a noun: a place you frequently go
As a verb: what a ghost does (scaring you, following you; you can call a house with ghosts āhauntedā). Memories can haunt you too.

Hunt - to chase wild animals in order to catch or kill them, or look for something that is difficult to find
Haunt - if something unpleasant haunts you, it keeps coming to your mind so that you canāt forget it.
