Alternative ways of saying "Sit down, please"?
I noticed that I've been repeating a lot "Sit down, please" in my class. As one student answered my question, I just went by "Thank you, sit down, please", sometimes "please take your seat".
I wonder what would your teachers respond to you in school when you answered the teachers' questions?

This may be a question of cultural difference. In a school in England, it would be extremely rare that a child would be expected to stand up in order to answer a question from the teacher; they would simply answer the teacher while sitting. What do you say in Chinese in this situation? Do you vary the response or always say the same thing?

It's fine Collin, would you say this - "please remain seated" to your students in classroom? 🤔

Depends on the audience.
-If you wish to make the request to a group of people, you could say:
"Let us all take our seats, please."
-If you are, say, in a meeting with another person, you could gesture, by pulling out a chair for them, or say "shall, we sit?" as you are preparing to sit as well.
