Do “a bit cold” and “a bit too cold” mean the same thing?

Hi Anya, no they're not the same. The word "too" and "bit" make the difference. These two words show the measure of coldness.

Like others have said, 'too' means undesirable.
It's too cold to go outside. I would go outside if it wasn't so cold.
It's a bit cold outside. You.have to understand that 'bit' in British English can mean anything from 'not much' to 'a lot', it depends how you say it:
Not very cold.
