Hey guys! Do “a bit cold” and “a bit too cold” mean the same thing?

Hi Anya, no they're not the same. The word "too" and "bit" make the difference. These two words show the measure of coldness.

"A bit cold" describes a teperature less than expected ."a bit too cold" means less than id desired or less than i s comfortable.

No there are not the same. A bit cold is correct and a bit too cold is wrong.

A good question! Like others have said, 'too' means undesirable. It's too cold to go outside. I would go outside if it wasn't so cold. It's a bit cold outside. You.have to understand that 'bit' in British English can mean anything from 'not much' to 'a lot', it depends how you say it: Not very cold.
