Enseignant professionnelWhy English Still Feels Heavy — Even After Years of Learning?
Many adults have spent years learning English.
Courses, teachers, books, practice. And yet, something still feels off.
You may notice it in meetings, interviews, or presentations:
you don’t sound like yourself. Your thinking slows down. Your authority shrinks.
This is rarely a language problem.
In my work with professionals from 70+ countries, one pattern keeps repeating: when people switch to English, they unconsciously switch roles.
They don’t speak as communicators.
They speak as students — careful, cautious, trying to be correct.
But real-life English is not a test.
It’s not about proving knowledge. It’s about carrying pressure and expressing who you are.
A student role has limited capacity.
A communicator role can hold complexity, imperfection, and responsibility.
In my latest podcast, I explore one simple question that changes everything:
Who are you being when you speak English?
If learning still feels endless, this may open a new door.
