Meaning of 'lead on'
1. To keep in a state of expectation or hope; entice.
2. To mislead; deceive.
If it is said in dialogue it can also mean' let us go forward'
Example: " Will we lose this battle or shall we keep fighting?"
"No! Never! Lead on Colonel and we will follow you into battle! "yelled the soldiers.
