i am trying to say, "this is the book i borrowed from a friend". my answer is, ”これは友達に借りた本です。” my textbook says, "これは友達から借りた本です。” which answer is better?

There is no defference between 「S１は　S２に　Oを　借ります。」 and 「S１は　S２から　Oを　借ります。」 I don't know any other verbs than 「習います」　＆「もらいます」 they can also take ’S2から’　instead of 'S2に’. Well,a few verbs like 「送る」「買う」　are used with 「てもらいます」. 私は　彼に　指輪を　買ってもらいました。私は　彼から　指輪を　買ってもらいました。 Hope this help you.
