what's the "barely suppressed anger" mean? barely suppressed anger? suppressed here is an adj or a verb? thanks

the anger is being supressed the supression of that anger is ineffective I believe that "supressed" is a transitive verb here and "anger" is the object of the transitive verb. "Barely" is the adverb modifing "supressed" indicating that the supression of the anger is barely effective.
