EXAMPLES: The lamp of the lighthouse GLOWS. (a steady light) The stars GLITTER in the sky. (sparkling light) My shoes SHINE after I polish them. (a surface that reflects light) COMMON USES OF "GLITTER": For arts and crafts, there is a type of glue called "GLITTER glue." It comes in tubes with different colors of GLITTER. It's great for holiday crafts. Women's eye and skin makeup sometimes has GLITTER in it. Girls like to apply this type of makeup when they go out to nightclubs.

Hi Sergio. Shine, and glow usually give the picture of a constant light, such as the sun or a flashlight. It doesn't change or go on/off. Glow means a softer light than shine. Glitter means bright and sparkling.
