"I have some work here." Does it mean "I have a little work here." or "I have a work here."?

We would say I have 'some' work here when we are not sure exactly how much we have to do or how long it will take to finish. If I had determined that I had a 'lot' or a 'little' work to do I would use those words.
Q. Would you like to go for dinner tonight?
A. I don't think I can, I have some work here I have to finish.
