“一下”have the meaning of once and a litter,but it also an auxiliary word，请我帮我一下and 请帮我，they are the same meaning，but add the一下，is like the daily Chinese.

帮 is a verb，帮助 is a none。
能你帮我打开窗户吗？could you help me to open the window，这句话里的help是帮的意思。
