How to say but in hebrew? As I understand, there are different forms of the word 'but' in hebrew. When would I use כי rather than מפני or בגלל? Thank you.Sorry, feel very stupid. I meant for because, not but. I was very tired when I wrote that.

Basically "but" refers to אבל / אך The word "because" is בגלל / משום ש.../ מפני ש.../ כי

If I am not wrong, the words you wrote mean rather: because For "but" there is the word: אבל (aval)
