Why do pandas seem to be named the same name twice? Ling Ling, Yum Yum, etc. Honest question, is there some method in the Chinese language for naming in this pattern?

It seems to be nick name or short name.In China,some parents always call their childen in thus name,this is a way to expressing their love.
