The quarreled _____ the choice of a house. A. for B. over C. to D. on Note: I agree that “over” sounds the best out of all available choices. My question is, can the verb “quarrel” sometimes followed by the preposition “for,” if so, would you please give an example? Thank you,

Yes. They quarreled for the first time in months. They shoved and quarreled to get out of the building first. They quarreled on the street.
