What is it "Passive voice"? I have to write a story to the passive voice. What does it mean?

Active: I bought a pen.
Passive: The pen was bought.
Active: I took a test.
Passive: The test has been taken.

We have active and passive voice(sentence)
Ex1: He broke the window.
EX2: The window is broken.
In the first example we know the subject,but in the second one we don't.
The window is broken(we don't know who has broken the window! by whom?)
