what's the difference "be attributed to " and "be ascribed to"
I 'm confused by the usage of "be attributed to " and "be ascribed to".
I think they are the same, and I look it up in a oxford dictionary, they also seems equal to each other in the dictionary, but someone told me that "be ascribed to" is used in bad things,negative things more often.
I need a native speaker to help me work out this problem,thank you!

Ascribe and attribute are synonyms. In general, attribute is usually positive, and ascribe is used both positively and negatively.
