In English we use the term 'I have' for different uses.
In English we use the term 'I have' for different uses. 'I have enjoyed myself today' 'I have a 2 children'
In Spanish it would be 'Yo tengo 2 ninos' how would I say 'I have enjoyed myself today'?

I think there are two ways to indicate the past tense in Spanish
1. The present perfect: Me he divertido hoy = I have enjoyed myself today.
2. The preterite: Me divertí = I enjoyed myself.
With the present perfect, you conjugate it using the verb haber (to have) + the past participle, just like in English.

In Spanish "to have" means "tener" or "haber" (it also is an auxiliar verb). The sentence "I have enjoyed myself today' is in Spanish "he disfrutado hoy".
