sometimes - just a general reference to "how often" (the frequency) an event happens without saying exactly how regularly it happens. Ex. Sometimes I eat icecream. It means that it does not happen often, and also it does not happen each week, or each day ... just whenever I decide to eat icecream. If it was a weekly event it would not be vague enough for sometimes, we would say weekly, or daily. "Every week I eat icecream" is too specific for sometimes. sometime - a general (not counted) amount of time until an event happens. Ex. "Sometime I want to learn French", means I have not started yet, I plan to do it, but I have not set a time in the future that I will start on, it's a vague amount of time.
