What are the common alternatives for happy or sad?
How do you express it when you are in a good mood or a bad one? Please give me as many words or phrases concerning this as possible.
And any difference between "upset" , " unhappy" , "uptight" and " angry" ?
Thanks a lot!

Well, the word 'uptight' doesn't really describe a mood. It more describes a person; an uptight individual is someone might be someone who worries a lot, is conservative, puritanical, obsessed with rules, reserved, straight-laced, afraid to loosen-up. Someone who doesn't know how to enjoy themselves and have a good time. The word can have several related meanings.

'Elated' means 'very happy', as does 'ecstatic'. 'Contented' means happy but in a calm way. 'On top of the world' is a colloquial term, as if 'on cloud nine'. If someone is really happy and not too reserved, they might reference a Fred Astaire (???) film. 'Singin' in the rain...'. I think it was Fred Astaire.

If a person is sad, then 'sad', 'depressed', 'dejected', 'bummed-out' all have similar meanings. Worried about something >>>> 'anxious', perhaps 'nervous' (although these words are not the same). A little mean, not wanting to be bothered >>>> 'irritable'. Some more informal ways to say mean and irritable might be 'in a pissy mood', or 'pissed off at everything'. Keep in mind though, these words are a little strong. Not profanity but a little bit like that.
