Would you explain? This question is relating to New Concept English(Book3 Lesson 6). http://www.putclub.com/html/course/classic/newconcept/book3/2008/0926/7321.html Is the following sentence natural(in English)? "One of the thieves was struck by a heavy statue, but he was too busy helping himself to diamonds to notice any pain." I want to know whether the phrases "helping himself" and "busy helping ..... to diamonds" are natural or not.

Yes, it sounds natural. If you look at definition 22b you'll see the appropriate definition of "help oneself to":http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/help+oneself+to

Yes both of those constructions are natural. The whole sentence paints a mental image of someone so focused on the task that they do not notice anything else.
