formality degree : ~습니다 > ~요

Thanks. If I am speaking and trying to be polite, I can use 어려워요 and 보여요, right? And wouldn't I normally use 어렵습니다 and 보입니다 when I am writing and/or being formal?

It sounds natural to me. You speak Korean very well. ps. 어려워요, 보여요 sound like a little childlike. :-) I think It'd be much better to say like this; 어렵습니다. 보입니다.
