Eu sei de "namorado/a," mas nunca ouvi "namorando."

NAMORAR is a verb it means this is a relationship between two people before they get married, NAMORANDO is a verb and it isn't slang, it is in gerund.
Example.
eu estou NAMORANDO com uma garota.
I'm DATING with a girl.

The right way is saying namorando, and it isn't slang, it is be in a relation with a girl or boy.
