thà… còn hơn… = would rather than = 寧可... 也不要... = eher… als.../ lieber… als...
My question is as follows: In the dictionary, I saw a sample sentence like, "Thà tôi ngủ còn hơn xem một bộ phim tệ như vậy." And other sentences of the same structure.
I think we can write as well, "Tôi thà ngủ còn hơn xem một bộ phim tệ như vậy." Am I right?

Tôi thà đi ngủ còn hơn xem bộ phim dở như vậy. Em nghĩ người Sài Gòn dùng chữ "dở" nhiều hơn chữ "tệ".

Forgot to write another sentence in the dictionary: Anh ta thà chết chứ ko đầu hàng.
