follow and continue
In which contexts can I use these verbs? Thanks in advance.

To the native speaker these verbs are clearly different:
Continue means to go on ie the opposite of stop.
Follow always needs an object : follow a guide, follow a road, follow a cours.
Are there some situations where you're not sure which of these verbs to use? Or where you think there is an overlap? Perhaps you could give some examples?
