In the Us when you make a deposit at a machine, generally you need to put your money or check into an envelope. The bank supplies the envelopes. The envelopes have a form printed on them where you can record your bank account number, the date, and the amount of the deposit.

A deposit envelope, or a deposit slip, is used at a bank. When you want to deposit money, you write down your account information and the amount that you want to deposit, onto the envelope or slip of paper. Then you hand it to the bank teller. They are not always used, but sometimes the bank teller prefers it if you fill out the small form as I just described.
