Definitely not. 'Cheers' has to stand alone as an expression of thanks. You can say either 'Thanks a lot' or just 'Cheers'.
Outside of the British Isles, I wouldn't recommend you say 'Cheers' at all to mean 'Thank you'. It is rarely used - or even understood - in other English-speaking countries.

As Thomas says, you wouldn't say, "Cheers for ..."
If you want, you could write both, as in "Thanks for the corrections. Cheers."
Just for your information, we don't use "Cheers" much in the US.
