"The" and plural form O_o Why did a native English speaker corret me? I wrote: "Trees are white, they are like diamonds". It was corrected: "THE trees are are white, they are like diamonds".

"Trees are white" without the "the", reads as meaning "all trees" "The trees" means a specific set of trees, not "all trees."

There is nothing wrong with what you wrote, except most trees are green and brown!

I have had a look at your notebook entry. You were describing a scene in a park, and you wrote 'Trees is white'. This is wrong, because you are not talking about trees in general. You are talking about the specific trees in the park where you were walking, and so you have to use the article. You also need to use the plural form 'are'. Leigh was right to correct this to 'The trees are white'. Also please note that the gentleman who did the second correction of your text failed to correct several other mistakes with articles. You can always trust Leigh Mumford's corrections, though.

Не всегда, но всё же может помочь следующая шутка: Для "новых русских" выпустили англо-русский спецсловарь, где с веяниями времени артикль the переводится как чисто-конкретно, а артикль a (an) как типо как бы. Поэтому "чисто-конкретные деревья - белые" или "типо как бы деревья белые"?
