Can I cancel my appointment with a professional teacher once I've scheduled one?
Just incase something comes up as to where I can't make the appointment anymore.

Hello,
of course, you can cancel the appointment. Just make sure that your teacher knows as soon as possible so that you and your teacher can fix another date.
