Hi!
Does "spawn" mean "to produce a lot of things" here?
Example:
New technology has spawned new business opportunities.
(New technology has produced lots of new business opportunities.)?
Thank you!

That is correct. Also spawn is a word that means the eggs of fish . Also it can mean , for example , " the fish spawn every spring " ...meaning the fish lay their eggs every spring. Hope this has spawned some new words in your vocabulary

"Spawn," the noun, is literally the eggs of a fish or a frog or anything that lays thousands of tiny eggs underwater.
It can also mean the thousands of tiny fish or tadpoles that emerge from the eggs.
The verb "to spawn" means to deposit thousands of eggs, or to produce thousands of offspring.
"The salmon swim upstream to spawn.
Figuratively, then, YES, "to spawn" can mean "to produce a lot of things."
But it also carries the ideas of EXUBERANCE and FERTILITY.
