Hey, how do I say law studies in German? Jura or Recht? which is better?

Als ehemalige Jurastudentin muss ich es ja genau wissen:
Du kannst sagen: "Ich studiere Jura. Ich bin Jurastudent. Ich bin Student der Rechtswissenschaft." (Das klingt aber ein bisschen förmlich!)

I think that both Jura and Recht mean "law'', Jurastudium and Studium der Rechtswissenschaft(en) stand for law studies, however, Jura came from Latine and means law.
