"I originally intended to walk, but due to rain I took a taxi", “I was originally going to walk, but because of rain I took a taxi“或者"I was originally going to walk, but took a taxi because it was raining".

As you probably know, there could be other ways of saying the same thing;
I was planning to walk, but had to take the taxi due to the rain.
