what does "from the top" mean in "It's a great view of the city from the top"?
Empire State Building is a great view of the city from the top.

If you go to the top of the Empire State Building and look out, you will have a great view! I've been there - it's true!

First of all, this sentence itself is incorrect. It should be " ESB has a great view of the city from the top." And what "from the top" really mean is "from the top (the Empire State Building). Hope this helps!
