Dankjewel! So cool many people want to learn Dutch! Good luck! I've also translated your introduction on italki. I'm not Dutch but that was an easy introduction so I think I got it right ;)

Suppose this is how you'd want to introduce yourself: English: Hi. Nice to meet you. I'm Patricia/My name is Patricia. How are you? Dutch: Hallo. Leuk u te ontmoeten. Ik heet Patricia/Mijn naam is Patricia. Hoe gaat het? Alternatively, you could also start by saying: Goeiemorgen (good morning); goeiedag (good day); goedemiddag (middag = midday, so you'd use this from 12 to about 4 or 5 pm) goedenavond (good evening) If it's not really a formal situation, you don't really need to use "u" for you. A simple "je" should be enough, unless if it's someone's parent or a teacher. If you want to add your age, you'd simply say: "Ik ben x jaar oud." (I'm x years old.) Have fun learning! Sven

"Ik heet Patricia." The verb is "heten". You can also use, "Mijn naam is..."

Sorry but 'Danke' is german. Thank you in dutch is 'dankjewel' (formal) or 'bedankt' (informal)
