Could you guys help check if all sentences are well correctly constructed. (English native pls) Im going to use this to test my participants for my master thesis on the other day. Please help, i want to make sure that it is correct and wont make my participant confused. Thank you so so much. Fill in the gaps using the verb in brackets in the past simple form and past progressive form. 1. While Bill _____________ (run), he___________ (hurt) his foot 2. (when) ran, hurt 2. talked, arrived 3. discovered, worked 4. carried, dropped 5, waited, gave 6. broke, (when) played 7. walked, found 8. smiled, sat (with her parents) In sentences 1 and 6 I feel the word you may want to use is "when' not 'while', because while makes it feel like the men 'hurt' or 'broke' their foot and then kept 'hurting' and 'breaking' their foot many times the whole time that they were running or playing football. I could be wrong if you are thinking something else. That's just how it sounds as a native speaker in normal conversation.
