how to understand "it's a wake-up call is what it is"? when A.J lost his rare book
"It's a wake-up call is what it is ," A.J. says."I'm definitely gonna cut down on my drinking." (I don't understand the grammar also, why there are so many "is")
AJ has obviously just woken up because his sentence is not grammatically accurate! I suffer from similar problems at 6am.
This would be correct:
"It's a wake-up call - that's what it is."
The second clause just adds emphasis to the first.
