Both mean 'as you say' but 'as you put it' suggests that the choice of words used are unusual or unique. This could include the use of 'slang' or colloquial terms or statements and imply a different style of speech or writing. For example, 'chill out' is unusual, when compared with 'to relax' which would be more usage/standard of English.
