一点 to express quantity
大家好!
I know 一点 means "a little", but would like to know if I can use 一点 to express "a few things". I mean if it works with both countable and uncountable nouns, the same way 一些 does:
一些水 (correct) Some water
一些鱼 (correct) Some fish
一点水 (correct) Some water
一点鱼 (??????) Some fish (?)
Note: I don't mean "a bit of fish". I know I can use 一点 for that. I just mean "a few fish"
Thanks

不要用英语文法学中文!
中文说:"这条项链加一点钻石就更好看了",跟"这条项链加多几颗钻石就更好看",分别不大。那你说它是countable还是uncountable? 其实真的無所谓。这就是中文。
"你们晚饭吃了什么?" "吃了点鱼。" "让我看看,冰箱里的三条鱼都给你们吃光了!" It's the same three fish! 但是不同人口中不同的意思就"一点"跟"三条"都用得上了。
There may not be any general rules. You will just have to h go back to your textbook and go through the examples thoroughly. And don't forget to join a proper Chinese class with a proper textbook and a qualified teacher. That is the only way to learn .

If you want to say "a few fish", you can use 几条鱼/几只鱼.
条 is the counter for fish.
you can also use 只 as the counter for animals etc.
几 is like "a few", "some", "how many" meaning.

You could say 幾「隻」魚or 幾「條」魚 to express "a few fish". And if you are interested in measure words for quantity in chinese, here's a useful website for you to follow:

If you need more practice for Chinese, I could prepare for you in my class! Looking forwards to having Chinese lessons with you :)

鱼没有一点,

In my opinion, '几条' may be a little complicated. It's also often used when you want to ask a question. For example, 'How many fish are there in the tank?/鱼缸里还有几(多少)条鱼?'
