What the difference between 노래하다 and 노래 부르다 ?

노래하다 is singing and 노래 부르다 means sing a song.
im not sure is it right but i think
노래하다 is verb
노래 부르다 is actually 노래(를) 부르다
so 노래 is a song and 부르다 is singing.
anyway, the meaning is almost same.
