If there's a book you like a lot in your own language, you can read it again but in English, it'll be easier to understand unknown words.

Your choice really depends on your level of English. I suggest starting with children's books or young adult fiction, something like Diary of a Wimpy Kid which has lots of pictures to give context. If you are a higher level you can try Harry Potter, Eragon, or The Whipping Boy. Another good one with fairly simple language is The Alchemist which has been translated into dozens of languages.
