when Americans want to buy ponytail holder online ,which word do you usually use ? hair accessories , hair band or something else ?

I'd also say "hair tie" if I want my hair tied into a ponytail. Maybe it's different in other places, but I understand that "hairband" is a U-shaped bad which fits over the whole head and keeps the hair away from the face. If you want something larger, soft and (maybe) colourful, look for "scrunchie"

Hairband. I usually buy them in the store though. The ones with metal are not as good and hard on hair.
