In this context, the meaning is "I was completely overwhelmed" or "completely overcome" or "thunderstruck." The violinist's playing was so amazing that it hit me like a physical force. I felt as if I'd been knocked over.
"To blow away" is a slang expression whose literal meaning is to shoot and kill somebody.

In this context, "blew me away" is another way of saying "really impressed me". So, in other words, it could be said as: "I recently heard a violinist who really impressed me".
I hope that this helps you!
