Do you want to the movies tonight?
Question: Hi there! What's up? Do you want to go to the movies tonight?
Answer: Of course yes, I'm free tonight. I'll meet you in the movies at 8:00 pm. Then we can eat something together".
There are two things I find a bit unnatural in my student's answer.
1) "Of course, yes". => I prefer the other way around: "Yes, of course!" .
2) "I'll meet you in the movies at 8:00 pm". => I prefer "I'll meet you AT the movies at 8:00 pm".
Can you correct me if I'm wrong? Thanks!

Wouldn't it be more usual to say 'I'll meet you at ..' + the name of the place? For example, 'I'll meet you at the movie theater' (US) or 'I'll meet you at the cinema;. (GB).

1. "Yes, of course" is commoner, but you will also hear "Of course, yes" on occasions from native speakers.
2. We would normally say AT the movies. Normally IN the movies is used of people who actually appear in the film e.g. actors.
